Jeder weiß, Zeitpläne werden nur aufgestellt um sie später wieder umwerfen zu können. Und To-do-Listen wachsen bekanntlich selbständig, obwohl man alles daran setzt sie abzuarbeiten. Und genau so ist das auch bei uns Hochzeitsfotografen. So unpraktisch das normalerweise ist, dass meine Frau den Großteil des Jahres als Opernsängerin am Theater in Halberstadt im Harz hausen muß, so lässt sich auf auf diesem Weg wenigstens mit der Bildbearbeitung halbwegs im Plan bleiben ohne den Familienfrieden gänzlich zu opfern (höchstens den Schlaf). Dennoch überkommt mich im Laufe jeder Hochzeitssaison unvermeidlich das Gefühl, mit allen Aufgaben hinterher zu hängen. Und nun, praktisch zum Saisonende, sind hier 10 Dinge an denen man ziemlich eindeutig erkennt, dass dieses Gefühl mich nicht täuscht. ;-)

Während Du gerade mal so mit den Bildern einer ganz besonderen Hochzeit in einer Gärtnerei fertig geworden bist, hat das Brautpaar in der Zwischenzeit eine Tour quer durch ganz Irland gemacht (auf einer von Dir empfohlenen Route). Doch damit nicht genug. Ganz nebenbei haben die beiden davor auch mal flott noch die Alpen überquert. Zu Fuß natürlich. Wäre ja sonst langweilig.
Du hast Dir einen tollen neuen Server mit 15 Terabyte für Deine Fotos zugelegt und auf dem gibt es schon jetzt eine eigene Partition mit potenziellen Blog-Fotos.
Ein bislang ungebloggtes Brautpaar in der Rhön droht Dir mit einem Einreiseverbot in die Region. Folge daraus wäre, dass eine geplante gemeinsame Skitour auf der Wasserkuppe sowie der im Anschluß versprochene Ouzo-Abend ausfallen würden (und das wäre tragisch).
Während Du noch an den Fotos einer wundervollen Hochzeit auf Schloss Kartzow in Brandenburg arbeitest, haben Dich Gäste dieser Hochzeit schon als Fotograf für Ihre eigene Hochzeitsfeier im nächsten Jahr in Spanien verpflichtet.
Das Paar mit dem Du in Kürze ein After-Wedding in New York fotografieren wirst, erwägt, Dich statt in der schicken Wohnung in Harlem auf einer Parkbank im Central Park schlafen zu lassen, wenn Du sie weiterhin ungebloggt lässt.
Im Gegensatz zu manchem Kollegen bist Du langsam sogar ein bißchen dankbar, wenn eines Deiner Brautpaare mal nicht im Blog erscheinen möchte.
Von Deiner letzten After-Wedding-Session in Irland gibt's noch nicht mal eine engere Auswahl für den Blog, aber dafür steht der Termin für die Hochzeit eines irischen Paars im Burren im County Clare nächstes Jahr.
Während Du gerade mal mit ihren Fotos angefangen hast, ist eines Deiner Brautpaare schon durch die halben USA, durch Mexiko, Belize und Honduras gereist und hat dabei so ziemlich alle Maya Kulturstätten mitgenommen die Mittelamerika so zu bieten hat.
Sehr deutlich wird Dein Rückstand, wenn Deine Bräute ihre Hochzeit einfach selbst bloggen - wie hier Sina in ihrem Blog "touch heaven - kiss the pilot"
Das eindeutigste Zeichen aber, dass Du mit der Bloggerei und allem hinterherhängst ist das hier: Während Du noch davon schreibst dass eines Deiner Brautpaare schon bloggt bevor Du selbst zum Bloggen kommst, hast Du dazu schon eine kleine After-Wedding-Session fotografiert, von der die Braut auch schon wieder gebloggt hat - noch bevor es in die Flitterwochen ging...

Und nein, das liegt wirklich nicht daran, dass wir Hochzeitsfotografen ständig von Buffet zu Buffet reisen. Ich schwöre! ;-)

10 things that make you as a wedding photographer realize that you are in a real backlog in terms of blogging and postprocessing

As everyone knows, schedules are only set up to knock them over. And that to-do lists do grow independently although you do everything to work them through, that's common knowledge. And that's the same with us wedding photographers. So inconvenient it usually is that my wife works as an opera singer at the theatre in Halberstadt most of the year, that at least gives me the chance to get along with postprocessing and keep the family peace (sacrificing only sleep). Nevertheless during the wedding season I am always overwhelmed by the inevitable feeling to have fallen behind with all of my tasks. And now, practically at the end of the wedding season, here are 10 things that point out quite clearly that this feeling is not deceiving. ;-)

While you're just through postprocessing the images of an extraordinary wedding at a greenery, the couple has made a trip across Ireland (on a route recommended by you). But not enough. the two also crossed the alps in the meantime. On foot of course. Would have been boring otherwise.
You have bought a great new server with 15 terabytes for your photos and there is already a whole partition just for potential blog photos.
A so far"unblogged" couple in the Rhön threatenes you with a ban on entry into the region. As a consequence the planned joint ski tour in their area and the promised Ouzo-tasting would be cancelled (which would be a tragedy).
While you're still working on the photos of a beautiful wedding at Castle Kartzow in Brandenburg, guests at this wedding have hired you as their wedding photographer for their own wedding next year in Spain.
The couple with whom you'll soon shoot an After-Wedding in New York is considering letting you sleep on a park bench in Central Park instead of their nice appartment in Harlem, if they will stay "unblogged".
